The story

Magdalena Aragon was born after her parents divorced and has never met her father, a famous matador. When he summons her to Spain she goes intending to tell him what a failure he was as a parent, but finds him seriously ill, and nothing she meant to say fits any more.

Her half brother Santos tells her stories of their kin. Her father's protege, the Gypsy bullfighter Rafael Mondragon, treats Maggie coldly as a rival for the old man's time, until he learns she shares his passion for flamenco. The author describes them as a couple who dance their way to love, with the real danger waiting outside the bullring. Maggie regards bullfighting as animal abuse, and the book contains no detailed bullfights.

About this book

Fierce Love opens the Bullfighter's Daughter trilogy. The author's own page announced it as a May release from Samhain Publishing, and her site lists the release date as May 22, 2012 and files it under Contemporary Romance. Fierce Pride (2013) and Fierce Passion (2013) continue the story of the Aragon family.

Phoebe Conn wrote that the idea came when a family friend married a bullfighter's daughter; she met the matador at the wedding, but the story itself is wholly invented. The archived page offered paperback and e-book editions through Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million, iBooks, IndieBound, Kobo and Powell's.
