The story
Lance Garrett hires on at the MacDowell spread expecting to tame broncs and rope steers. Instead the Southerner is told to teach the boss's high-spirited daughter some genteel manners. He nearly quits, then sees MaLou MacDowell and decides to finish the job and ride fast and far.
MaLou, raised among men, cattle and horses, had planned to practice a few feminine wiles and marry the boy next door, joining the two ranches. Meeting Lance ends that plan. She expects him to fight her every step of the way and swears she will be his student in love all the same.
