The story
Brendan was captured on the isle of Erin by raiding Norsemen and has spent years as a slave, passed from one owner to the next. Now he belongs to a prosperous Danish farmer and spends his days playing the family against each other while bargaining his way toward the one thing he wants: escape, and home.
Dana only wants the farm to run smoothly while her father and brother are away for the summer, but the belligerent slave is now her responsibility. He is rakish and charming, and his horsemanship is an asset she could use, if only he would obey. Risky flirtation turns into a passion that burns away the line between mistress and slave, and if she gives him his freedom it could cost her everything.
