The story
Elizabeth rescues a proud Seneca brave from certain death, and in return he agrees to work her farm for three months. The bargain seems fair until she learns that her green-eyed brave, Andrew, is the long-missing heir to a Philadelphia fortune.
The two are soul mates by the publisher's account, but neither the Seneca nor Philadelphia society welcomes the match. Betrayed by secrets and lies, Elizabeth risks another bargain, this time with a cruel British officer, to save Andrew's life as the Revolutionary War closes in.
